Santa Barbara Freight is a logistics company specializing in the movement of wine & spirits from coast to coast and most points in-between.

We are looking to add experienced master mechanics to our team at our full-service shop in Paso Robles, CA.

Our fleet consists of diesel semi-tractors, 53’ refrigerated trailers, box-trucks, and company vans along with a wide variety of additional mechanical assets.

This position is responsible for servicing a wide variety of company fleet vehicles, from basic maintenance and minor repairs to full fleet service.

Essential job Functions:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair fleet vehicles including gas, diesel, and propane vehicles
• Perform basic maintenance including but not limited to rotating tires, checking fluids levels, changing oil, checking batteries, lubricating equipment and machinery, inspection of brake and steering systems
• Test systems and individual parts to ensure proper working order and/or to evaluate degree of damage
• Identify and repair mechanical and electrical problems
• Repair or replace worn parts and systems on trucks / trailers
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet assets
• Perform preventative safety inspections on fleet assets
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and tools
• Dedication and adherence to all company and industry safety standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diesel repair and maintenance experience in heavy truck / trailer that includes DOT compliance
• Knowledge of A/C system, brake system, emission system, air systems and diagnostics/troubleshooting of diesel engines and trailer assemblies
• Basic computer skills with the ability to use diagnostic programs
• Class A commercial license is highly desired
• Be able to pass drug test and background.
