CDL A – Regional Truck Driver – home weekly

Paid for all on duty hours and layover pay – may be out three to five days a week – reset at home weekly

Santa Barbara Freight is looking for company drivers to join our team.

This driver position can take the driver from our terminals to various locations. It can have you run loaded trailers out to transfer loads with other drivers, as well as making pick ups and deliveries from locations. It may be linehaul or some touch freight. The routes can vary but the consistency is the same, can have the driver out up to 3 to 5 days at a time (we have nice sleeper trucks) with reset’s home no less than weekly and typically by the weekend.

We are a carrier that primarily moves uniformed palletized refrigerated freight, moving freight from coast to coast and most points in-between. Work is stable, consistent, and year-round, can be flexible with no sitting days unless the driver wants to.

The company fleet consists of highly maintained Freightliner and Volvo tractors pulling 53′ refrigerated trailers.

Minimum Driver requirements:

  • At least 2 years Class A commercial driving experience within the last 4 years
  • Valid current commercial Class A driver’s license
  • Current DOT physical card
  • Ability to physically twist, bend and lift 50lbs repetitively, use manual and electric pallet jacks to load and unload freight. Mostly palletized freight, minimal hand stacking/restacking.

Driver Responsibilities:

  • Pre-trip both truck & trailer to ensure assets are in safe working order and to receive preventative maintenance on time.
  • Ensure freight bill accuracy, complete notations and trip documents processed timely.
  • Upload paperwork and load pictures to ELD system
  • Ensure truck/trailer & freight are secure, temperature set accordingly, and properly loaded
  • Compliant and accurate ELD’s
  • Comply with FMCSA rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, break periods) and company policies and procedures
  • Maintain truck/trailer daily (removal of trash & waste, clean windows)
